General Summary:

The Student Services Coordinator will oversee all functions of the student services department including, but not limited to, student groups and activities on campus and within the community, and manage the retention and re-entry processes.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and contact students who are at risk and ensure that appropriate action is taken to address issues and concerns.
  • Establish community resources for faculty and students.
  • Facilitate the academic advising program.
  • Coordinate student groups.
  • Know all students, including their goals and needs.
  • Review daily attendance report and contact students after two-day absence.
  • Meet regularly with at risk students to monitor progress.
  • Advise students of school policies.
  • Maintain contact with faculty members regarding at risk students.
  • Ensure mandatory attendance of students at tutoring sessions.
  • Attend orientations, graduations, open houses, and other student functions.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student affairs and administrative responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all curricula, policies and procedures.
  • Promote student support services throughout the school.
  • Facilitate networking, communication, and leadership among academic and academic support personnel throughout the school.
  • Analyze attrition and take action to improve retention.
  • Prepare annual Retention Plan.
  • Attend regular Academic meetings and report on retention activities.
  • Connect students to community resources
  • Coordinate student groups and activities
  • Coordinate academic advising
  • Facilitate the student government

Education & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required
  • 1-3 years experience in customer service or academic/admissions support field.

Knowledge of and experience in higher education environment.
