Student Finance Processor - Career Education Corporation
The Student Finance Back Office Processor is responsible for the processing of R2T4 calculations, tuition refunds as well as the disbursing of Title IV funding and institutional scholarships.
This individual is expected to understand the rules of Return of Title IV calculations and apply different tuition refund policies based on the institution and state. They must also be able to utilize our different tools (CampusVue, in-house applications) to complete the Title IV return and tuition refund calculations.
The individual will be expected to review and process Title IV disbursements and institutional scholarships. They must understand the regulations that determine student eligibility for Title IV. The individual must be able to utilize our different tools (CampusVue, in-house applications), and outside systems (COD, NSLDS) to reconcile and post all eligible financial aid to student ledgers.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Complete Return of Title IV calculations and IRCs for withdrawn students
Complete end of term refund calculations for active students
Identify and resolve out of school student credit balances
Enrollment reporting to NSLDS via the Clearinghouse roster process
Review tuition adjustments for active students
Work cancel reports, end of LP reports and origination change rejects for out of school students
Screen and post all TIV disbursements and institutional scholarships
Reconcile COD reports to CampusVue, including disb variances, MRRs and POPs
Resolve any issues with other schools for MRRs, POPs and SULA items
Completion of daily folder reconciliation
Post SERF requests and R2T4 and credit balance refunds
Have a fluid understanding of processes in addition to how tools work
Complete assigned daily workflow metric
Adhere to QA standards
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to navigate internal IT systems (CVue) and outside systems (NSLDS, COD)
Proficient in Excel including formatting, linking, formulas (beginning level)
Proficient in PowerPoint including presentations, slideshows (adding graphics, sounds, rearranging slides, etc), (beginning level).
Strong orientation towards fast paced, time sensitive business operations
Knowledge of internal control concepts and principles
High ethical standards
Technical skills, including Web-based applications and electronic communication
Education and Experience: Minimum
HS Diploma or its equivalent
1 years of experience in Student Accounts and/or financial aid field
Education and Experience: Preferred
Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
