Senior Applications Developer - Career Education Corporation
The Senior Applications Developer is responsible for designing, developing and testing application modifications to optimize the PeopleSoft HR application. This position is also responsible for issue resolution, and maintenance and support activities as needed.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains and supports PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 application
Create technical design documents from functional specifications created by application analysts
Design and develop code to meet business requirements
Conduct design and code reviews as needed
Test code and incorporate feedback from functional testing
Provides technical expertise for system analysis, design and implementation of applications and systems integration
Reviews, evaluates and reports on progress and quality within projects including: problem definition and specifications; systems design; programming effort; controls; documentation; issue identification/resolution and conversion
Provides system support to HR user community, resolves systems issues, and identifies system changes to support business needs
Keeps abreast of new PeopleSoft HCM and related application area technologies, determining their relevance to the organization. Participates in the implementation of additional modules, as recommended
Independently troubleshoot production issues by proactively suggesting solutions and identifying difficult designs
Develops strong interpersonal working relationships with application analyst and functional teams
Focuses on creative efforts to facilitate improvements and effect change
Solves complex problems by taking on a new perspective utilizing originality and ingenuity using existing solutions
Analyze and apply PeopleSoft PUM images
Communicate progress and results of project teams to management

Strong understanding of software development methodologies and technology and needs assessment experience
Required Experience

Strong Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interfaces/Web Services, SQR, SQL, and Workflow experience
Experience developing Homepages, Tiles, Workcenters, Navigation Collections, Fluid pages
Experience creating Pivot Grid, PSQuery, BI Publisher
Experience developing Related Content Services and Related Actions
Preferred Experience
Experience working with Drop Zones, Event Mapping, and Page Field Configurator
Experience developing AWE, Fluid MAP Approval, HTML/eMail Approvals
Experience with ADS Migration tool, DMS export and import scripts, and SQL scripts for conversion
Experience with 3rd Party integrations
Education and Experience: Minimum
Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or Computer Information Systems from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
Strong knowledge of HR concepts, processes, practices, and procedures required
6-8 years of experience as PeopleSoft HCM developer
Education and Experience: Preferred
Knowledge of PeopleSoft HR, ESS, MSS, Payroll, Time & Labor, ePerformance, eCompensation and Benefits preferred
Experience with Oracle Taleo modules a plus
