Performs financial internal control assessments to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of financial internal controls; makes recommendations for improvement in moderately complex processes and controls; and partners with business units to monitor effectiveness of corrective action plans.  Performs assignments at the request of management.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the planning of financial internal controls testing, develops audit objectives and test programs, including identifying and documenting audit procedures with limited guidance.
  • Conducts and documents process walkthroughs to identify key controls, associated business objectives, risks and relevant control parameters.
  • Completes control testing and identifies and discusses significant issues with manager.
  • Identifies, communicates and resolves issues with management that arise as a result of the review.
  • Reviews and analyzes self-assessment results and raised issues.
  • Drafts initial findings and confirm issues with Business Unit management.
  • Conducts post-assessment follow-up to evaluate the effectiveness of the corrective actions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of business processes across multiple business units.
  • Demonstrates aptitude for leading projects by leading small assignments.
Education & Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required
  • Professional accreditation (e.g. CIA, CPA, CISA ) preferred or demonstrated interest towards attaining
  • Prior experience in performing financial/operational/compliance reviews
