Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Supervises curriculum quality to ensure student learning outcomes.
  • Supervises assigned Program Chairs and/or Lead Faculty for applicable curricular areas.
  • Lead all CTU discipline-specific education initiatives
  • Supports program and course level assessment of student learning for appropriate discipline-specific outcomes.
  • Provides guidance and direction for all assigned program committees.
  • Coordinates new course development and course revisions with the Course Development team.
  • Monitors admissions and retention in program areas, taking necessary corrective actions and making recommendations when necessary.
  • Monitors grading trends to ensure integrity of courses.
  • Evaluates the currency and applicability of course materials for discipline-specific courses.
  • Supervises the curriculum development and revision process, including textbook selection, with the Course Development team.
  • Leads new academic program development.
  • Lead efforts to ensure CTU programs have differentiators in the market.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in Admissions, Marketing and other areas
  • Contributes to program knowledge training with Admissions, as required.
  • Develops and maintains relationship with Career Services to provide industry-relevant job sources and trend information to students/alumni.
  • Establishes clear guidelines for the approval of transfer credit for relevant courses in coordination with Prior Learning Assessment team.
  • Provides faculty standards for teaching CTU discipline-specific courses.

 

 

Knowledge

  • Doctorate in Discipline area.
  • Minimum 5 years college/university academic management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years college/university teaching experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in professional field.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage human resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to build academic programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of proprietary higher education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of applicable regulatory, accrediting agency, and professional association standards.
